Working Methods

An initial consultancy engagement has become an established characteristic of Fusion Workshop’s preferred client-partnership working model. This establishes a clear and informed position for the client to identify choices and verify business decisions.

Processes such as business impact vs. ease/cost of implementation are used throughout this phase to explore and identify technology options

Fusion Workshop is an independent web application specialist. This means we can provide our clients with an informed and non-biased decision environment in which to plan the future of their business.

Our consultants provide real and viable solutions with confirmation of key improvement areas, and the definition and prioritisation of initiatives.

Requirements Elicitation and Management

The process that Fusion Workshop has adopted and tailored is based on a number of methods and definitions derived from IEEE Standard 1471. This is designed to be lightweight and rapid. It is also designed to ensure that all aspects of a potential system are considered.

The Concepts of Stakeholder representation, Viewpoints and Perspectives ensure that requirements and quality criteria are captured and able to be analysed with respect to the business case.

The main output of the Discovery or Requirements Gathering activity is an Architectural Definition (AD) of the system that meets a clients requirements and a number of supporting products that enable the AD to form part of a PRINCE2 PID.

Appropriate use of these well proven teqniques, business scenario analysis, UML diagramming, and prototyping exercises gives a rich and common understanding of what the solution must achieve. It gives developers a blueprint from which they can extract technical designs.

Project Management

Fusion Workshop has developed a mid-weight but agile project managment method that is based on and conforms to PRINCE2 .

PRINCE2 embodies established and proven best practice in project management. It is widely recognised and provides a common language for all participants in a project. Where customer organisations use alternate methods, PRINCE2 provides seamless interfaces to ensure effective communication and assurance of quality standards.
